Yes, we are back in school, studying. We have gotten a bit rusty with studying but nevertheless there is always a process.
- Step 1Repetition - repeating something is one of the keys to remembering something. The more that you go over a subject, the more you will remember it!
- Step 2Study for small periods of time. Do not try to cram the information into your brain the night before! When you get an assignment from a teacher, read the information a little bit at a time each day and you will begin to remember it.
- Step 3Use mnemonics! If you are attempting to memorize the lobes of the brain: the frontal lobe, the parietal lobe, the temporal lobe, and the occipital lobe. You can find words or phrases that are like these to remember them. The frontal lobe is in the front. My hearing is sometimes temporary because the temporal lobe is the center of hearing.
- Step 4Believe it or not, flash cards are wonderful. Buy yourself a bunch of index cards and write vocabulary words on the front and their definitions on the back. You can color-code them by using highlighters!
- Step 5Try to reduce your text anxiety before an exam! If you are too nervous, adrenaline will rush through your body and you will not be able to focus! Try to stay calm to help you remember!
Great tips!
