SOME TEA TIN FOR YOUR HERBS?

We found this image via Apartment Therapy, isn’t it a great idea?  The bright colours of the Twinings tea boxes are really eye-catching. We think it helps that the boxes are all the same size, as a mixture of different sizes could just look cheap and untidy, whereas this display looks planned and intentional.

If you’re lucky enough to have some vintage containers hidden away in your garden shed, dig them out!  Otherwise the best places to find some are in traditional-style farm shops such as Westmorland in Cumbria , in garden centres or at Christmas time when limited edition gift boxes are on sale. Be creative!

  1. I love the look of that but I wonder how well the plants would actually continue to grow without drainage. I've only recently begun trying to grow my own herbs and so far it's been a difficult process so I have no idea..any thoughts?
Love the blog by the way!! :D

  2. We have been growing some of our herbs in pots without drainage. So far, we have no problem. There will always be some tell tale signs from your herbs if you are watering too much. Read about them by researching on the www. Sometimes it will be a bit wilted, sometimes yellow leaves... etc.
