RECYCLE YOUR TOILET ROLLS FOR YOUR GARDEN

We are firm believers of reusing your supplies. It is a skill, it is being creative and resourceful. Thegoodmoodfoodblog teaches us how to use toilet rolls for our garden. this is so useful since one of us is going to Amsterdam. Being new to the climate, growing anything can be a chore with many trials and errors. Reusing supplies can help to make it less expensive and painful. This can totally work for our mushroom growing idea too. Mushrooms can break down decomposable materials and convert them into food. So cool!

  1. Roll a ball of news paper into a tight ball.
  2. Place inside the toilet roll tube and push to the bottom.
  3. Fill the tube with soil and add a little water.
  4. Using your finger push the soil down approximately 1 inch.
  5. Place a pea seed in the hole and cover over with soil.
  6. Place the tube in a seed tray or pot and water regularly.
  7. When the seedling has a strong stem and is about 3 inches long you can plant outside.
  8. Plant the pea plants approximately 20-30cm apart and water daily.
  9. Place bamboo sticks beside the plant and using garden twine or ties, attach the plant by the stem.  This will give the plant some extra support.
