SAVE ON YOUR WATER BILLS WITH A MILK JAR

This isn't a new tip or trick; in fact many people of past generations have been keen on this idea for quite some time — but we feel it's an easy way to be green and save a buck along the way and bears repeating.

Simply fill a half gallon milk jug with rocks, sand or gravel (whatever is handy) and add a little water to the mix. Your goal is to sink the jug and keep it in place so it doesn't scoot around and interfere with the inner workings of your toilet.

Many folks in the past have been known to use things like bricks, but milk jugs are easy for more to come across. If you use just water alone, your jug can move around, so make sure to add something else (even if it's not something earth-y like rocks). Your toilet will now use less water each time you flush! It's really just that simple.
