THE POOR MAN'S SOUP (BREAD SOUP) WAS A HIT

T came home to a hearty soup. It is the monsoon season and it has been raining hard everyday. There is nothing like a hot soup to end the hard day of work. We soaked a few pieces of unrised bread. We made some bread the last time but the yeast was dead so the bread was flat like a runway. Soaking it made it soft and blending it into the soup made it palatable.

It was 2 chicken stock cubes, tumeric for the color, crushed pepper, bay leaves, garlic and onions. T couldn't make out what soup it was. He was so confused by the color. And to be truthful, the taste with all the herbs and spices could very easily be passed off as sweet potato or pumpkin soup.

And here it is, the poor man's soup, the bread soup. Nothing wasted, just efficient.
