We bought this big, well presented squid from Hakodate, Hokkaido, Japan as a gift for our office. We thought it is quite nice and rather impressive. Whether it is delish or not is another matter. The head and the tail was a little too tough to eat, so we packed it home and cooked soup with it. You might say, WHAT? But dried seafood is well known to add a lot of flavour to soups and rice porridge. Dried fish, scallops, shrimps and squid are widely used to flavour food.
