LIFE IS A JOURNEY, ARE YOU READY?

45 USES FOR BABY OIL

It's cheap and contains very few additives and some brands come enhanced with extra vitamins or aloe.
  1. If you put a few drops in your ears, you can remove wax-build up without prodding your ear canal.
  2. Warm it up if you've got really waxy, plugged up ears.
  3. Put a little on a cotton ball to help remove eye make-up.
  4. Put some in your bath to soften yours or your babies skin . Mixing it with a touch of your favorite bubble bath will create a lovely bathwash.
  5. Use after shaving your legs to soften your skin and prevent razor burn.
  6. Use on your babies scalp to treat and prevent cradle cap.
  7. Use on cracked or dry heals and put socks on to hold in the moisture.
  8. Smooth on a pregnant tummy to reduce the chances of stretch marks.
  9. Use in homemade baby wipes (2 tbsps of baby oil, 2tbsps of baby lotion, 1 tbsp of bathwash and 3/4 cup of hot water poured over Bounty paper towels and put in a sealed container).
  10. Use a small amount to bring out the sheen in your wooden furniture.
  11. Massage a little on your cuticles before your manicure or pedicure.
  12. Using before going in the sun can increase your likelihood of sunburn or suntan (beware of uva/uvb rays).
  13. Babyoil makes a good personal lubricant (but can damage profylactics).
  14. Great and inexpensive massage oil.
  15. Great lubricant for noisy door hinges!
  16. Gets rid of temporary tattoos in a snap.
  17. Remove latex paint from skin: Pour a generous amount of baby oil on a cotton ball and scrub.
  18. Untangle a necklace chain: Massage a dab of oil onto the tangled area, then use a straight pin to carefully pull apart the knot.
  19. Peel off bandages: Avoid involuntary hair removal―and extra agony―by rubbing baby oil over and around the sticky parts of an adhesive bandage before pulling it off.
  20. Slip off a stuck ring: Massage oil onto your finger and rotate the ring until you can slide it off. (This trick works to get body parts out of a number of sticky situations.)
  21. Removing the silicon of those hair extensions yourself at home! Massage the baby oil into your hair and the silicon, it should slip off. Shampoo several times to remove the oil.
  22. Shave with baby oil instead of shave gel. I find that it helps soften my dry skin, and keeps my skin moisturized longer than lotion.
  23. When I want to slip my rings off before I cook a meal or work in the garden, I use baby oil to help the stuck rings slide right off my fingers. Warning: Do not remove your rings over an open sink! The results could be disastrous!
  24. I try to take a 30 minute walk every day. Since it has been extremely cold, I rub baby oil into my skin before I go out into the cold. The baby oil helps to insulate my body and keep me warm as I get my daily exercise.
  25. To keep your arm or leg hair intact, rub some baby oil around a band aid or other adhesive bandage before removing.
  26. Should a zipper become stuck, I use a cotton ball or q-tip to help the zipper slide up and down more easily.
  27. If a price sticker doesn't peel off as easily as it should, dab a little oil on said offending sticker, let soak into the sticker then wipe clean with a soft cloth.
  28. My necklaces always seem to tangle, but the knot easily comes out when I use a straight pin and a dab of baby oil on the knot.
  29. Baby oil will remove paint from your skin, and you'll do double duty by not only removing the paint; you'll also soften your skin.
  30. Use when making homemade baby wipes.
  31. Use to quiet squeaky door hinges if you run out of Vaseline.
  32. Baby oil keeps my leather bags and shoes supple. Just rub generously into leather with a soft polishing cloth. It also keeps my leather goods waterproof.
  33. On the rare occasions I get to take a luxuriating bath, I add a couple drops of my favorite essential oil to 1/4 cup of baby oil, and relax for a few minutes.
  34. A few drops of baby oil and a polishing cloth will make stainless steel and chrome shine like new.
  35. Keep Yourself Warm When the Weather's Cold. Massage your skin with baby oil before you get dressed, and it will help you stay warmer during the cold weather months. The oil closes your skin pores and helps insulate your body. It will also smooth and moisturize dry skin!
  36. Use Baby Oil to Remove Bubble Gum. Kids love to chew bubble gum, but it's difficult to remove the sticky goo from their faces and fingers. The next time you need a gum remover, reach for the bottle of baby oil. Pour a small amount on a tissue or paper towel. Rub it directly on the goo and it will come right off!
  37. Buff up your golf clubs. Don't waste your money on fancy cleaning kits for your chrome-plated carbon steel golf club heads. Just keep a small bottle filled with baby oil in your golf bag along with a chamois cloth or towel. Dab a few drops of oil on the cloth and polish the head of your club after each round of golf.
  38. Get scratches off dashboard plastic. You can disguise scratches on the plastic lens covering the odometer and other indicators on your car's dashboard by rubbing over them with a bit of baby oil.
  39. Treat cradle cap. Cradle cap may be unsightly, but it is a common, usually harmless, phase in many babies' development. To combat it, gently rub in a little baby oil, and lightly comb it through your baby's hair. If your child gets upset, comb it a bit at a time, but do not leave the oil on for more than 24 hours. Then, thoroughly wash the hair to remove all of the oil. Repeat the process in persistent cases. Note: If you notice a lot of yellow crusting, or if the cradle cap has spread behind the ears or on the neck, contact your pediatrician instead.
  40. Apply a dab to a cotton cloth and uses it to shine everything from faucets to hubcaps.
  41. You can half of a cup to a bottle of shower get. You can simply add the baby oil to a half bottle of shower gel. Use the shower gel liquid on a soap puff and gently rub into your skin. This locks the freshness inside your skin. Leave your skin less greasy by using half the amount of baby oil.
  42. Prevent stretch marks. During pregnancy you body will go thorough many changes and need some readjustments. Don’t let stretch marks be one of these changes. Stop stretch marks from occurring by rubbing baby oil on your expanding stomach, which softens the skin and makes it more elastic to stretch leaving it more prone to go back in shape.
  43. Polish your shoes. On a cotton ball apply baby oil in small circular motions. Baby oil will put a shiny new look to your shoes.
  44. Use baby oil on your chrome-plated carbon steel golf club heads. Keep a small bottle filled with baby oil in your golf bag along with a chamois cloth or towel. Dab a few drops of oil on the cloth and polish the heads of your clubs after each round of golf.
  45. I love to use baby oil on my heels; put on socks overnight. So soft and smooth!

Pretty much every single one of these ideas was repeated at least once if not twice. You might want to go back over them and check that out. I do love the ideas though! Thanks!

Yeah, lots of these are repeated... You could probably half this list.

But also, I have another use for it! It gets rid of any residue left on the skin after waxing :)

Oh! And if there are any budding artists reading this, it works well as a sort of mixing medium if you like to use oil pastels. Really helps blend the colours together & make the finish smooth and painterly.

2 more great uses for baby oil :)

-Lubricate a Keyhole: If you have a key that is very difficult to get in or out of a keyhole, just put baby oil all over the key then put the key in the keyhole and turn it back and forth several times. Repeat if needed. It will keep the inside of the keyhole as slippery as a slip 'n' slide for many years!

-Lubricate a Paper Shredder: If your shredder makes a grinding noise when being used, just pour baby oil all over the blades. It will eliminate the noise and make your shredder run smooth and quiet again for many years!
