"A pomander, from French pomme dambre, i.e. apple of amber, is a ball made of perfumes, such as ambergris (hence the name), musk, or civet. The pomander was worn or carried in a vase, also known by the same name, as a protection against infection in times of pestilence or merely as a useful article to modify bad smells. The globular cases which contained the pomanders were hung from a neck-chain or attached to the girdle, and were usually perforated and made of gold or silver. Sometimes they contained several partitions, in each of which was placed a different perfume."
We love the fact that magazine paper is absorbent and colorful. We created this light charm which you can hang on your window. It is especially charming when the wind blows and the scent from the pomander uplifts the room. Drop some essential oils and it will absorb it completely, giving a unique antique-like look. Once the color has regain its original look, it means it is time to recharge the pomander.
