OUR FRIEND SAID SHE THOUGHT OF US WHEN SHE WATCHED THIS

What memories are made of.

I'll just go on
Thinking and forgetting
Turning and reaching
Loving and lying

THE STRAIN S02E12 QUOTE

She is lesbian, they had an affair together. Her lesbian lover is not dead. She got kidnapped by the vampires and he went to save her when they were about to kill her. She needs to make things work with her lesbian lover. But he loves her anyway. She said: "I don't make it easy for you do I?" And he said: "Good things don't come easy."

Heart break.

LITTLE BOY (THE MOVIE) : WITH FAITH, YOU CAN MOVE ANYTHING

We are watching this movie this morning of our long weekend and what a good choice. We thought it would be heavy but this is very heart warming for a rainy day and we definitely need the goodness in this film to lift us. With faith, you can move anything. Just believe.

JACK NICHOLSON ON STANLEY KUBRICK : EVERYBODY ACKNOWLEDGES THAT HE IS THE MAN. BUT I FEEL THAT UNDER RATES HIM.

DETRIOT METAL CITY THE MOVIE

I went to watch this yesterday at a foreign film screening. Detroit Metal City was shot in 2009. It is a pretty old film, tacky and over the top but it was awesome. It was very entertaining.

Soichi Negishi moved to Tokyo to chase his dream of becoming a musician playing stylish, Swedish-style pop. Instead, he finds himself leading the death metal band Detroit Metal City, or DMC, as the costumed and grotesquely made-up "demon emperor" Johannes Krauser II. Although he hates the role and the things he has to do as a member of the band, he has a definite talent for it. Adapted from the hit Japanese comic book by Kiminori Wakasugi, the movie follows Negishi's antics as he tries to reconcile the two very different sides of his life and find out what it really means to achieve his dream.

MOVIE REVIEW : FIFTY SHADES OF GREY. AWKWARD

It irks me to be writing a review on this movie. But I was so irked that I couldn't find reviews that reflect my feeling on this very awkward movie. How do I put it? It is so awkward and possibly not even worth my time, that I am sitting here wondering if I should even start with this post.

Perhaps points will make it easier.
  • I didn't read the book(s) but I thought I would watch the movie since it is so talked about and I also found a streaming version of it. Though, the version was censored on some of the sex scenes.
  • I like Sam Taylor Johnson. And I wish she would not make the sequels. The plot is flakey to begin with, so it is very difficult to build a story around it when the author and fans are expecting you to keep it true to the book.
  • The casting is good. I think Dakota Johnson is good. I think Jamie D is very cute. Whether he is the right Mr Grey or not, that is to be debated. The character in the story is so weak and not fleshed out that it is difficult for any actor or the director to expand on it.
  • Why is this based on Twilight? Fan fiction? Maybe I am too old to understand this. It is just weird and perverse. Loads of teens and young adults are reading or have read Twilight but this? This is selling BDSM to young people. What is going on?
  • There are much more tasteful BDSM movies done in the past like 9 1/2 weeks and Secretary. I know perhaps there should be more sex scenes in this 21st century version. But do they need to be that suggestive. Actually they are not even suggestive. They are what they are. Literal. I just think the psychology is not explored. It is just pure sex, give me the sex and ignore the psychology.
  • Have anyone also noticed that the male protagonists in 9 1/2 weeks and Secretary have the same last name? They are all called Grey. John Grey and Edward Grey respectively.
  • It is all about sex. What happened to twists and turns. Where is the romance? There are some gifts and extravagance. They seem to be infatuated and just love sex. Conversations are limited.
  • How true or untrue the lack of plot and dialogue are to the book, I do not know. But not all movies and books should be mirrored. There can still be a lot of details in props and sets to create more dimensional characters. OMG. Never mind. Is it just all about the sex again?
  • Do any of you think this is really an appropriate movie? A virgin meets BDSM rich guy. She isn't into BDSM. He finds out she is a virgin and deflowers her anyway. They both know they have different rules and still pursued sex together. No they didn't seem to pursue being together because they didn't date, nor have dialogues. Or much of it.
  • It left a bad taste in my mouth. A plot like this is usually for a B movie that will and should not have such a big box office. But why is this now big? It is promoting a deviant sort of relationship/romance.
  • It ended abruptly. Yes, I do not mind it. What do people expect? I am sure there will be the sequels, so this open ended, abrupt ending is just right. Artistic ending in my opinion. Talk about a cliff-hanger. Isn't that what it is? I thought that is how the book ended?

DIRT! THE MOVIE

Excursion into the realms of soil, the number 1 lifegiver on Earth...It's fundamentally important ecological functions, our poor understanding of it as well as our destructive relationship with it. They are so essential to life and thus to us, that our survival is directly dependent on their understanding and protection!

QUOTES FROM OSCAR WILDE : THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY

We re-watched an old rendition of Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray. The drama series of Penny Dreadful recently brought about all these characters again. Dorian Gray, so beautiful and yet so tragic indeed.

HEAVY RAIN (GAME) : THE MOVIE

We love The Walking Dead game by Telltale and that is what we have been playing this weekend. It has been a good rest and relax weekend, and why not with a role playing, story filled game in bed. YEAH!

We are not getting enough of the Telltale games and the other 2 episodes of season 2 of The Walking Dead is talking such a long time to be released. We started searching for which other role playing games there are out there which we can possibly play.

After a while of research, we found out the the most and best rated game is called Heavy Rain. This is possibly the best role playing game with one of the best plots. Unfortunately, it is only available on the PlayStation. Tough luck for us.

What is interesting about this game, is not just that it is a role playing game which is the talk of town in the recent years. The plot is apparently the bombs.

Heavy Rain is an interactive drama action-adventure video gamedeveloped by Quantic Dream and published by Sony Computer Entertainment exclusively for the PlayStation 3 in 2010.

The game is a film noir thriller, featuring four diverse protagonists involved with the mystery of the Origami Killer, a serial killer who uses extended periods of rainfall to drown his victims. The player interacts with the game by performing actions highlighted on screen related to motions on the controller, and in some cases, performing a series of quick time events during fast-paced action sequences. The player's decisions and actions during the game will affect the narrative. The main characters can be killed, and certain actions may lead to different scenes and endings.

Heavy Rain was a critical and commercial success, winning multipleGame of the Year awards and selling over three million copies. A live-action film adaptation of the game is currently in development.

THE GAME PLAY

Heavy Rain is an adventure game, requiring the player to move the character and have him or her interact with the objects or other non-player characters on the scene to progress the story. The game is divided into several scenes, each centering on one of four playable characters. The choices the player makes or the actions performed or not performed will affect later scenes in the game. For example, it is possible that a character dies or becomes detained, and will not be present in a later scene. There is no immediate "game over" in Heavy Rain; the game will progress to a number of different endings depending on the sum of the player's performance even if all the characters become incapacitated in some manner.Once the game is complete, the player can return to earlier scenes and replay them, possibly altering the events as they play through other chapters.

Loving the graphic on the poster.

Within most scenes, the player can control the main character by moving them around the environment; they can also hold down a button to see what thoughts are going through the character's mind, and trigger them to hear an internal monologue on that thought.

When the player is near an object or another character they can interact with, they will be presented with a context sensitive icon that represents what control they need to do. These controls include pressing a button on the DualShock controller, moving the analogue sticks in a specific manner, or rotating the motion-sensitive controller in a specific way; in the version with PlayStation Move support, further actions based on the Move controllers are also present. These actions may lead to additional actions to fully complete the interaction.

Some scenes impose a timer on the player, requiring them to complete the necessary actions in time to avoid the death or incapacitation of that character. In other scenes, the player does not have full control of the character but must instead be prepared to respond to these icons in the manner of Quick Time Events, such as during a hand-to-hand fight or while driving frantically on the wrong side of the road; the player does not receive a game over if these events are completed incorrectly, but may possibly alter how future scenes play out.
Additionally, the game includes a difficulty level functionality that the user can change through the menu at any point during the game.

While adjusting the level will not alter the storyline of the game directly, a higher difficulty will influence the prompts, for example, requiring more inputs during sequences in order to avoid a failed action.

THE WALKING DEAD GAME SEASON 2 BY TELLTALE

We were introduced to Telltale's 'The Walking Dead' Game last year by our colleague. We love zombie movies and have been catching the drama series 'The Walking Dead' on telly. As much as we love the series, the game is in a league of its own. This is not a fighting game per se. It is a role playing game. Every single decision brings you further into the plot, winning or losing allies.

In season one, we all played the character of Lee, the man who escaped being locked up in prison, and who saved the little girl named Clementine whom he founded stranded alone in her tree house when the outbreak happened. Emotions soared as we followed Lee and Clementine through their adventure, experiencing kindness, friendship, betrayal and malice. It is now no secret, hence not a spoiler that Lee passed at the end of season one.

We now play Clementine, the 11 year old girl in season two.

We have bought all five episodes of season two, only with episodes four and five still in the making. We will only be able to download episode four come end of July as reported on the www.

We love this game. Although the wait is somewhat excruciating, it is well worth it. And in our opinion, perhaps even better than the series itself.

DON'T TELL THE BRIDE

We were introduced to this reality show by Neil. We visited him and he was watching one of the episodes. The concept of this show is that the couple are given 12000pounds for their wedding.

What's the catch here? The couple have to separate for 3 weeks without contact and the man plans the wedding. Yes he does, the venue, the dress, the everything. The woman only needs to turn up.

We have embedded one of the many episodes. It is quite hilarious watching it with Neil, but we got really hooked afterwards. It is funny to a certain extent. Well, the man plans the wedding, what can possibly go wrong? Just about a lot? But what is really sweet about this series is that we see the difference between male and female and that in the end, love conquers all. It is just sweet to see how a man would go through miles to impress his mrs-to-be. Not all decisions are spot on but that is the difference between male and female, isn't it.

BREAKING BAD IS COMING TO A CLOSE AND HOW MUCH ARE WE GOING TO MISS THE CHARACTERS

We started on Breaking Bad the beginning of last week. It is the best rated TV drama ever and we just had to understand why it is this and not the other TV shows. We were drawn into the character of Walter White in the 1st 2 episodes. He rose from a weak shrinking violet to a raging red. Despite the wrong doings, the murders, the cooking of meth, you still want to like him because he has a super soft side for his family. Isn't it all because of the family that the cooking started?

We have finished 4 and a half seasons after a week and it is just pretty sad that we have another 8 episodes that we say goodbye to the White family forever.

Do you like Breaking Bad? Do share with us.

RICK STEIN IN INDIA, EPISODE 1

KUNGFU PANDA : SECRETS OF THE MASTERS

THE SKIN I LIVE IN, CHILLINGLY AWESOME

We just watched this movie whilst working. Gave us the chills. Amazing film. So distubingly good. From one of our favorite storytellers, Pedro Almodovar.

THE SERIES AND SITCOMS WE CATCH

We love our series because watching plain old terrestrial TV where we are is plain boring. We love to watch all these series, and Mondays are our favorite because so many of them have their episodes available to us. Without commercials too. Awesome. Here are some which have their seasons running at the moment. We follow a lot more of course, being the junkies we are.

This is not very us. But the cast and the set is great. The story is slow but if you leave a few episodes and watch them in a row, you get some satisfaction somehow. Not our favorite amidst all the choices.

We are suckers for zombies movies. We know the plot already since it is from a graphic novel. Nonetheless, the actors are great, the makeup too. Any zombie movies rock. Yea, we know, we are geeks.

Beautiful cast. What else can we say. We think it is a female thing. It ain't bad. Guys squirm when they know we are watching this, but hey, you guys watch your own flicks too.

Love him, love Deborah, love the title sequence, love the poster. Though, the poster seems to be inspired by a scammed advertising campaign. Love Dexter, always look forward to the episodes.

Who do not love The Big Bang Theory? The geeks, Penny, Seldon, all the actors and actresses who regurgitate their lines. Funny funny funny. Ohhh, hilarious jewish portrayal too. All so true. Mommy's boy and possessive mother.

We are still catching this although Sheen is gone. Aston isn't as funny but we do love the writers, that is why we are still watching it. Jake and Alan are still funny. 20 minutes of pastime per week, why not? Just skip the Aston part.

We think they are all funny, with the exception of Ted. So, why not.

He is good TV material. Love the way Ramsay swears. We know a lot of you guys do not like it but it is simply British, or in his case, Scottish. They do swear a lot. Big deal, get over it. It is great to watch, sometimes inspiring and also hilarious.

Believe it or not, this is one of the best reality cooking shows. Full of real talents age 12 and below, with such knowledge and guts they will put all of us to shame. They have such cuddly innocence that you really feel for them.

What else are you catching this season, care to share?

BRYCE AND KEIKO OF FLASHFORWARD : BE BRAVE LIKE THEM

We started Flashforward only now. We know we are a bit slow but we love waiting for all the episodes before we turn maniac onto some marathoners over a weekend. Though, for the case of Flashforward, we are a few years late.

In the season of Flashforward, we are drawn towards the love story of Bryce and Keiko.

One of FlashForward's biggest mysteries is whether or not the titular flashforwards will come true. That's been one of the big debates of the series, and its starting to seem that the flashforwards are only a possible future, and won't necessarily come true.
Well, here are two flashforwards that will most definitely be coming true: Bryce and Keiko will be meeting up in the season (and quite possibly series) finale of flashforward, entitled "Future Shock." And if there was any debate on whether or not their relationship would stay platonic after Bryce began developing a relationship with Nicole, let that debate be silenced; Keiko and Bryce will share a kiss in the restaurant in which they meet.
Now, it may just be me, but this seems awfully shallow of Bryce, who had apparently made a grand gesture of "screw the future" in the most recent episode, "Course Correction." And even if he and Nicole go through a breakup, wouldn't Bryce at least remember that Nicole's flashforward showed her drowning at the exact same time as he was meeting Keiko? Wouldn't he appear to be even the least bit concerned for his friend?

Another interesting thing from the batch of promotional photos that feature Bryce and Keiko -- one of them shows them lying down in the restaurant seats, holding hands. Now notice the people at the bar behind them; they're similarly slouched. Are we seeing another blackout that occurs at the same time as the flashforwards coming true? That's quite a possibility, because without another blackout, what chance doesFlashForward have to continue its story? That was rhetorical, but I'll answer it anyway: slim to none.
What do you think of these photos? What will happen between Bryce and Nicole? Will there be another blackout? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below, and stay tuned for more FlashForwardspoilers.

We are at the end of the season, well almost. Bryce and Nicole, we are not so excited about. Bryce and Keiko... what a charming love story. The both of them are so brave to have gone in search of each other. They should end up together although many spoilers have reported it didn't happen.

It indeed happened. We watched it. Finished the whole of the season today. It is an awesome season. They really should have made another one. Sometimes one just cannot change fate.

WHY WE LOVE CAPTAIN AMERICA THE MOVIE...

Because he is real. Because he is just a kid from Brooklyn who happened to have balls. Because he is courageous. Because he is human and he is brave and vulnerable at the same time. Because he is who we could be if we had only wanted to (without the serum of course). We judged his costume during the trailer but may we say Captain America simply rocks.
