If you buy water from a vending machine it costs over $6 per gallon. How did we get to a point where we are paying more for something that falls from the sky than we are for something we have to mechanically drill from the ground (oil)?
Rain reservoirs like these help to save water for you. Why not just save water which is free from Mother Nature? You can use this water to water your plants or wash your car or porch. Just remember to always cover the water so as to prevent mosquitoes from breeding.
Funneling your watering can make saving rain water more efficient too.
