A HOUSE IN A HOUSE, MAKING USE OF RUINS

This is simply a beautiful idea. Talk about reuse. The S(ch)austall house, from German firm Naumann.Architektur, makes a stone ruin inhabitable with the help of a wooden box insert. The windows from the stone structure dictate the holes in the new addition, and the new roof overlaps the original walls without imposing on the jagged, crumbling facade.
