We watched that video we posted a while back and thought we had to try it and see if it is for real. We have tried it with just sodium bicarbonate which is a core ingredient in the Alka Seltzer tablet but it didn't work. We are guessing the carbon dioxide has something to do with it. Any scientist reading this care to comment? Here is our experiment:
We inherited this chain belt from one of our sisters. It is supposed to look somewhat tarnished, but not this tarnished.
Rather tarnished if you ask us.
Cannot miss the secret ingredient.
Pop the metal into a container with lukewarm water and then in goes the Alka Seltzer.
This is a couple of minutes into the fizzling. Is it us or is it already looking less tarnished?
We left the belt in the container to sit for a good hour before we rinsed the belt off.
VERDICT : THE ALKA SELTZER METHOD WORKS!
