We visited Volterra. Volterra was an Italian city in Tuscany, in the province of Pisa. The city was founded by the Etruscans and lies on a hill overlooking the surrounding hills. The city has 11,000 residents and attracts many tourists. It is also an important location in Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series. It is home to the Volturi, a group of powerful and ancient vampires. Can you believe we were haunted by souvenirs of the movie everywhere we went!?
There is a Roman theater, which dates from the 1st century BC. We wanted to go in but it cost about 3euro per person. We decided not to and continued walking.
3 minutes away was this view through the fence. It is probably, not probably, but definitely a better view from the paid area. Hmmm....
We tried waving to the tourists who paid to go in to take pictures. Unfortunately, they didn't spot us from our photo-taking spot.
