TIPS FOR AN ITALIAN ROADTRIP : HOTEL HOPPING

Whenever we travel, we love to hotel hop. This gives us a change of environment and allows us to move from sometimes, an unexpected crappy hotel to a better one. We are not loaded so we cannot afford to stay in luxurious places all the time.

HERE ARE SOME TIPS AND TRICKS ON HOTEL HOPPING :

• You would want to stay in a place near to the city or in the vicinity of the city. Such places are usually not superb, but they do help you to save a lot of time and money in traveling. After this, you would ideally move to the countryside or a town.
• Hotel hopping allows you to save money if you do it properly. You do not always have to stay in luxurious places. When you are visiting a city, all you need is a clean and comfortable room to reside. If it does not come with a view, so be it. If it does not come with breakfast, so be it. You would only be back home late at night anyway. Even if you are not, you would be hitting the sack. We always need an ensuite by the way. We cannot stand sharing in that way.
• If you are gone for a good few weeks, it might make sense to book an apartment. In this way, you can save a lot by cooking by yourself. In our case, it wasn't so much of saving the cash, it was a matter of eating good food. We had to cook! Tuscany is not known for good food.
• Always find out about the amenities of a hotel. Car park, fridges, restaurants, TV...etc. It would help you to plan your day/trip.
• If you plan to hotel hop, start with the crappiest, if not cheapest hotel first. In that way you can only look forward to better rooms and a more comfortable stay at your next destination.

We stayed here for a week. It came with a kitchenette which was perfect for us.

This was our sunset scenery during dinner every night. Self cooked dinner of course! Imagine the amount you would have to pay at a restaurant for this view.

We then changed our scenery from that to this by hopping. Awesome.
