LIFE IS A JOURNEY, ARE YOU READY?

CAN A CUP OF TEA CURE YOUR COLD?

We are ill again. This is the second time in a month. When such a thing happens, it isn't that a bug is going around and that we have caught it. This is a sign of fatigue and having our immune system being on strike, telling us that we are tired and it is time to rest and relax.

We tried treating our dry cough with chamomile tea the other time. It provided a lot of relief but we cannot say it should be the only thing one should take as a remedy. Of course staying hydrated helps to heal, but it is still not as speedy as western meds unfortunately.

This time we felt a bit of a sniffle and thought it is time we bump up the antioxidants in our bodies. Rooibos tea has got loads more antioxidant properties than green tea and does not contain caffeine. It also has a naturally sweet taste that makes it very platable. We are making our Rooibos with spices like cloves, cinnamon, coriander seeds, pepper balls and cardamon. Hopefully this little concoction will help to warm up our bodies and rid this cold in no time.

Traditional chinese medicine has a herbal tea to treat colds that basically forces one to sweat out the toxins in their bodies. We will see how our concoction works in comparison. We will be reporting our progress soon.
