LIFE IS A JOURNEY, ARE YOU READY?

PROJECT TRAVELING RICE COOKER : JAPANESE BEEF CURRY STEW

We were craving for some meet yesterday and so decided to go to the supermarket to see what was fresh. This piece of stewing beef looked good so we thought we would make a stew with the ingredients we have. We tried 'frying' or browning the steak in the mini cooker but really, it isn't suitable for browning anything really.

This is as brown as it will ever get. We think this is because of the 'pressing down' system that we talked about before. It has to do with the heat contact. It will only ever get really hot when the lid snaps shut.

So we made Japanese beef curry stew.

INGREDIENTS:

  • A stewing steak
  • Garlic, we love garlic so we put in a whole bulb
  • 2 tomatoes
  • Mixed pulses like peas, barley and lentils
  • Japanese curry cubes
  • Water
  • Some macaroni

We wrapped it the next morning with some sweet basil and that was our lunchbox.
