One of us at Fidgety Fingers took this set of photographs years ago...... during the good old days when film was the only thing. It was most difficult when photographing paper. The form and concept of paper is enigmatic. It is essential a 1-dimensional object, it has no form. The forms only appear when we deliberately create them.
The beauty of paper is in its fibers and unpredictability, the potential to hold inspiration and express all sorts of emotions. Here, our photographer explores the possibilities of paper, how it beckons inspirations, inspires ideas, represents our moods, represents our environment, imitating the horizon, the falls, the winds, the galaxies...
We love the contrast of the blacks and the whites, how each of these non-colors transform themselves from the cold and unfeeling black and white to more meaningful shades of grays. Looking at these photos, you cannot help but feel an impulse to start expressing yourself, be it writing or drawing.
Paper beckons.
(These prints are for sale. Fidget Fingers are looking at making some photo frames using sustainable materials which will enhance these pictures. Keep your eyes open for these frames.)
