It isn't beautiful. When you see in the market, it looks like the growth of a tumour. Have it in tea, it is divine. In food, it perks up a dish. On the body, it helps to target pressure points. Any more?

My friend once gave me this really useful tip for grating ginger: keep it in the freezer, so you won't get any stringy bits and it'll grate much faster into fine bits.
