Ok, we have all bought second hand electronics from our trustworthy friends at some point. Half a year ago, we bought a macbook pro from a friend. He is a trustworthy guy. The only reason why we would even buy a second hand mac without any extended warranty is because we know he takes very good care of his machines.
The book collapsed on the last day of our trip in Amsterdam. Ok shucks! It was kind of a 'oh my god, noooo' and yet 'thank god, only on the last day' sort of situation. We brought the mac to a technician and found out that the motherboard had crashed. We did nothing to it. It was merely sleeping and wouldn't wake up. There goes the mac. This explains our lack of posts. We have been waiting for a new one to arrive. In order to be safe, we have also purchased an extended warranty for future heartache.
Friend or no friend, it wasn't his fault that the machine died but it is just heartbreaking to part with the cash when one didn't expect to. Lesson learnt, and definitely wiser in 2010.
