We were buying a bottle of wine the other day at a Singapore supermarket. The first thing anyone would do is to look around for the shortest queue. We found it with a quick scan and we were screaming inside. No one was going to annoyingly walk quickly in front of us because the cashier counter says "Bring your own bag" counter or something like that.
There are reusable shopping bags along the way to the cashier in case you would like to use the shortest checkout queue in the supermarket as well. We always bring a bag with us so we were extremely thrilled by the preferential treatment, if you can put it that way.
We do pity that poor cashier at the till though. She had to remind every customer it is a byob till. Many people had to move. Yes, they had to move... ;-p
