We went cycling last weekend. We had this nagging feeling that summer is over, so we were making use of the times that the sun is out. These pictures look a bit grim. They were taken with a camera phone. That pretty much explains it. The clouds were also drifting our way. It was sunny though you cannot see it in this picture.
We stay at the fringe of the city and countryside. And this vastness is only 8 minutes on the bicycle for us. Isn't that precious.
We were cycling along until Mr Washy stopped and pointed at the bushes.
Yes! Wild blackberries. We went on cycling and had our picnic. We did return to pick the berries. We collected a bag of blackberries and plums!
The joy of the weekend stayed with us till now. We are still going through the jam. We only had 2 jars, so we put the plum jam in one and blackberry in another for Washy's folks.
We saved a container of blackberry jam that couldn't fit into the jar for ourselves. It is Y-U-M-M-Y! There is nothing like nature's wonder that is beautifully organic and sweet.
