LIFE IS A JOURNEY, ARE YOU READY?

A DREAMY ABANDONED MILL IN SORRENTO

Abandoned Mill built in 1866, Sorrento, Italy

A lovely friend who always greet us 'Good morning' online, shared this with us this morning. How dreamy! We do wonder why the Italians would build a mill in the depths of the mountains. To camouflage in times of war perhaps?

This place is called Valley of the Mills because there were several in the area, dating from about 900 AD. This one closed in the 1880s due to rising humidity which made it no longer feasible to grind grain there.
