This is the rice cooker we have acquired and yes, we are testing our new project. THE TRAVELING RICE COOKER. Call us crazy but we are not big fans of the food from where we commute to for work. Sorry co-workers if you are reading this. We leave this mini rice cooker in the office and bring it back to the hotel when we come and stay for work, which is often. Just see how compact and how cute it is.
It snaps open like a lunchbox. It originally came with a handle but we have detached it as it gets a bit bulky for the suitcase and really, for traveling light.
It comes with a metal steamer which is great for steaming eggs and vegetables. We have also seen people cook a small single portion of rice in it too.
The capacity of the mini rice cooker is about 3 cups of rice. Which is really plenty for even 2 persons. This is a good size for soup, stews and savoury rice for 1-2 persons. Though, it is probably a conservative quantity for hungry or big eaters.
