LIFE IS A JOURNEY, ARE YOU READY?

TO FAIR OR NOT TO FAIR : WHAT IS TO HAPPEN TO OUR SPARE-TIME CROCHETED LOOT

It is 5pm and the sun has already set here. Miserable! This is still part of our efficient Sunday plan. We managed to wrap a present, be it for Sinterklaas (the Dutch version of Santa, only that it is earlier, on 5th of December) or Xmas, it is going to Mr Washy's colleague.

We were crocheting last night and he asked what we were crocheting. We then showed him the baby beret.

So, Washy saw the cute beret and suggested it could be a gift for one of his closer colleagues. We said, 'why not?' He then changed his mind and said we should just add it to our collection for the Xmas fair.

A friend has suggested we gather our crocheted items and sell it for Xmas.

We love to crochet. It really isn't so much of making money, we have never sold any crocheted items. It is more for meditating. The monotony of crocheting or knitting makes us calm. It kind of shuts out some things and we can relax. Being the fidgety us, we also enjoy moving our fingers when we are in front of the TV. More often than not, we really just crochet for the fun of it. Mr Washy and friends use some of our items but they are all gifts.

We finished the 2 baby berets today and thought, why not. It would make Mr Washy and his colleague happy and we would be happy too. We are not sure about the fair idea. It was never quite our intention to crochet and we do not think we would ever go that way. Our day job (although we do not have one yet in the dam. Perhaps we should call it our trained profession) still holds a lot of meaning in our hearts. This little hobby will and should never take over that. Together with the hours spent and money on the yarn and the commission to come, the profit would be measly.

We have decided this spare time loot would go to reinforcing and establishing friendships.

Little Victoria will have 2 little berets tomorrow to keep herself warm this winter. Hugs.
